Rough Start to the Year

February 23, 2012 - Amy Leigh Wilson
It has been an interesting, and not-so-good, start to the year. Our mild winter had a nasty flu bug move through our house, which wasn't so fun. We moved our office, which was both stressful and confusing. Then I found myself in a sort of funk that I couldn't quite shake no matter how many times I told myself to count my blessings. When I ran across Heidi Smith Luedtke's article about making your own good fortune, I was intrigued. I can't say that I've won the lottery or anything since I first read it, but I do believe that, to an extent, people make their own luck. She's right that we have to take chances in order to see some results. So I'm working on my bravery and telling myself I can overcome anything. I hope it works! The clocks are springing forward again, so get outside and enjoy a day with a kite and your kids. Even though the winter was mild, I know I'm looking forward to spending some extra daylight hours playing in the park after the kids get home from school. Have a fabulous March and Happy St. Patrick's Day to my Irish brothers and sisters!
